La visite des ruines de l'ancienne Abbaye cistercienne vous offre de découvrir un site chargé d'authenticité au fond d'une vallée où jaillit la fontaine Mathilde. La Maison des hôtes vous transporte dans le scriptorium cistercien. Les animations vidéos sur de grands lutrins vous font découvrir l'histoire du monastère et à la vie de la communauté monastique aujourd'hui (10 minutes ). Des maquettes animées vous initient ensuite aux trois époques de l'architecture de l'abbaye. Le circuit d'interprétation dans les ruines médiévales vous explique la destination des lieux monastiques. Dans l'unique bâtiment subsistant de l'ancienne Abbaye, vous pourrez y découvrir : les secrets du savoir-faire brassicole de la bière d'Orval, un parcours interactif pour la joie des enfants, l'œuvre du moine peintre Frère Abraham Gilson. Selon vos attentes, vous vous passionnerez pour les collections d'art sacré et des anciennes forges, aménagées dans les caves du 18e siècle. Le jardin de plantes médicinales illustre les usages de la pharmacie avec ses objets d'époque. En saison, des expositions artistiques ou thématiques viennent s'ajouter.

We will finally transport you through time: you will be guided in a reconstructed period house. Jean's animals, bursting with energy and realism (Jean studied under Jef Lambeaux) rub shoulders with the gentle, timeless photos of Charles. The museum hosts major temporary exhibitions from its fabulous collections. At the end of the tour, you will discover the exceptional "Fisenne" altarpiece from Antwerp dating from the early 16th century, along with religious art collections.

A museum for the whole family! Created in 1934, the Archaeological Museum of Arlon brings together many testimonies of the Gallo-Roman civilization discovered on the territory of the province of Luxembourg. The city of Arlon, which is located at the crossroads of two important Roman roads (Reims-Trier and Metz-Tongeren) experienced in particular great prosperity during the first centuries of our era, thanks to trade with neighboring regions, and as far as the Mediterranean. Located on the former territory of the city of Trevires, the agglomeration was called Orolaunum vicus. One of the peculiarities of the museum is its imposing and rich lapidary collection, composed of several dozen fragments of ancient funerary monuments. The remarkable conservation of these sculptures is due to their reuse in the foundations of the rampart built at the end of Antiquity to protect Orolaunum vicus from Germanic raids. In addition to the lapidary section, the museum also presents a wide variety of other objects, such as: - a collection of ceramics, - a collection of glasses, - a collection of metals, - a collection of organic material (wood, leather, bones), - a collection of mosaics and painted plasters, - the result of the excavations carried out at Arlon and the Villa de Mageroy
